DreamMaker Bath &amp; Kitchen is a nationally recognized remodeling franchise with a strong local presence in the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia). Our Northwest DC Design Center serves a diverse community, with many long-term, repeat clients, often in occupied homes and sometimes in historic properties. At our DC location, you'll join a small, close-knit team that meets regularly, supports each other, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work and a smooth, respectful experience for homeowners. As our Remodeler Lead Carpenter , you'll be the on-site leader for residential remodeling projects, primarily kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home updates in occupied homes around DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. This is a full-time, in-person role. Projects are dispatched from our Northwest DC office to job sites across the DMV area (typically within 1 hour) Responsibilities<ul><li>Supervise and coordinate daily activities to keep projects on schedule, on budget, and on spec.</li><li>Act as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners, trade partners, and the General Manager.</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, organized jobsite in occupied homes; daily clean-up is non-negotiable.</li><li> Perform a wide range of residential remodeling tasks, including:</li></ul>-Rough and finish carpentry, framing, and trim-Cabinet installation and adjustments-Door and window installation-Drywall hanging, finishing, and repair-Tile installation (floors, showers, backsplashes)-Luxury vinyl and other common flooring systems-Fixture installation (plumbing and electrical finishes) <ul><li>Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including layout, cutting, fastening, caulking, patching, and repairs.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans to guide work.</li><li>Coordinate and oversee subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) to ensure quality and sequence.</li><li>Conduct regular quality checks to confirm work meets company standards, building codes, and safety regulations.</li><li>Use project management software (JobTread) to log progress, photos, notes, and changes.</li><li>Report issues, delays, or needed changes promptly to the General Manager.</li><li>Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners, especially older clients and families living in the home during construction.</li><li>Provide on-the-job guidance to junior carpenters and helpers.</li><li>Model safe work practices and ensure all safety protocols are followed, including during lifting and material handling.</li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>Proven experience in residential remodeling, with strong hands-on carpentry skills and the ability to run jobs with minimal supervision.</li><li>Comfortable handling most aspects of a remodeling project (carpentry plus basic drywall, flooring, tile, etc.).</li><li>Experience working in occupied homes required; experience with historic remodeling is a plus.</li><li>Proficiency with standard hand and power tools and jobsite equipment.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications accurately.</li><li>Familiarity with project management software (JobTread or similar) and basic smartphone apps for photos, messaging, and documentation.</li><li>Strong leadership and coordination skills, able to organize work, oversee subs, and keep others moving in the right direction.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail; you spot issues early and propose practical solutions.</li><li>Clear, professional communication with homeowners, coworkers, and trade partners; patient and courteous, especially with older clients.</li><li>Able to represent and live out our Code of Values in daily behavior.</li><li>Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.</li><li>Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job, including lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, and working in typical construction conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>Bilingual (English + Spanish or Portuguese) is a plus, but not required.</li></ul>Pay &amp; Benefits <ul><li>Job Type: Full-time, in-person.
